Terry was born on June 18, 1942 in Yuma, Arizona. After graduating from Espanola High School and New Mexico State University, he attended dental school at the University of Missouri in Kansas City. He did periodontal residency in Temple, TX, Marlin, TX, and Los Angeles, CA, and served with the Veterans Administration in Miami, FL and San Antonio, TX. He established a private practice in periodontal surgery in San Antonio until moving to the Albuquerque area 10 years ago, where he continued to practice periodontics and dentistry until his death.
Throughout his life, Terry was known as a kind and generous man who would always help a friend in need and freely give a strong hand and a big smile. He was an active person who bicycled, lifted weights, and hiked through the New Mexico forests, even after two battles with colon cancer and a knee replacement. Terry continually educated himself, pursuing interests in writing, philosophy, politics and music. Social and outgoing, Terry loved spending an evening with family and friends sharing good food, good wine, and good conversation. His positive outlook, humor, and passion for life infected everyone who encountered him. Dearly loved by family and friends, Glenn Terry Soesbe is greatly missed and will be fondly remembered by all.
He is survived by his wife Suzette B. Soesbe; son Jeff (wife Charlotte Newcomb, children Eleanor and Ava); daughter Susan (wife Deanna Sykes); son Todd (wife Sinead and children Finnley and Lenna); their mother Carol Scheutzel Soesbe; stepson Bryan Beasley (wife Angela, children Cassandra, Brianna and Alex); sisters Abbie and Sheryl and brothers Rod and Jack; and numerous other relatives and friends.
As per his wishes, Terry was cremated without a formal funeral. A memorial service will be held at the Edgewood Masonic Lodge No. 82 in Edgewood, New Mexico on Sunday, September 20, 2009 from 2:00 - 4:00 PM.
