Alberto Maximo Dominguez November 1951 – September 2009 Alberto passed away after a 22 year battle with diabetes. He held a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Southern Illinois University – Edwardsville, and retired from the New York State Thruway Authority.
Born in Guayaquil, Ecuador to Luis Alberto Dominguez and Fanny Dominguez-Pardo, Alberto Maximo Dominguez is survived by his father, Luis Alberto Dominguez, his sisters, Ivonne Dominguez and Gisela Dominguez, his brother, Freddy Dominguez and his three children, Alberto Dominguez III, Karena P. Dominguez, and Evelyn C. Dominguez.
A history buff and combative in nature, Alberto (Papi) will forever be remembered as a man with great resolve, determination, and an unwavering sense of right and wrong. He always started his conversation with "what you fail to understand," which guaranteed a good discussion. He was also a man of style. In the 70s, he wore a 'Latfro' (Latino Afro) with platform marshmellow shoes, bell bottom pants and shirts that would rival today's GQ. He loved soccer, and attended Kansas State University and SIU on athletic scholarships. An avid music lover, Alberto attended the infamous Woodstock festival as well as a number of venues in the Mid-West.
Above all, Alberto was a passionate, devoted, committed, and loving father. He sacrificed to ensure all three of his children attended Catholic School. If he wasn't on the sideline to cheer on (or scream at the coach) his son in baseball and soccer, he was wiping a hot dog clean for Karena or playing tennis with Cassie. He was a proud father and we are just as proud to call him Papi.
