It has been a pevilege to get to know Meredith in the last years of her life.
She was a remarkable women with lots of humor and such a clear mind.
It was hard for her to understand me because of her loss of hearing but I could listen to so many stories of so many past years.
Meredith had a terrific memory and could go in details of her stories.
She told me about her beautiful Wisconsin with its many lakes and wild flowers, traveling in Europe and the USA and much more.
She loved her family young and old and espeacially her grand nephews and nieces.
Meridith mentioned the dogs in the family and met my dog. She always asked:"Is she in the car? Why don't you sneek her in the house so I can pad her"
Last summer I took Meredith several times out in the front jard to enjoy the sunshine and the fresh air. She appreciated God's creation , the blew sky, the tall trees with their different colors and the few roses in the yard.
She kept up with the politics via TV and she always came up with a joke.
What a stong faith she had in God and in Jezus Christ. She did not want to miss the UPC service sunday evening at 8pm at night.
Her faith supported her in difficult times and her trust was in the Lord.
Many times she quoted her favorite verses in Proverbs 3:5-8
Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
and do not rely on your own insight.
In all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will make straight your paths.
Do not be wise in your own eyes;
fear the Lord and turn away from evil.
It will be a healing for your flesh
and a refreshment for your body.
I cherish the time we have spend together and I do miss her.
